Job Overview

Tarmac, a leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, is seeking a highly skilled Permitting and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Land & Natural Resources team, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and securing new permits for our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, submit, and manage permit applications to relevant regulators, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Identify changes to regulations and guidance that require new permits or impact existing permits, advising the business on necessary actions to maintain compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on technical issues related to permit conditions and environmental legislation, including seeking legal advice and managing regulator communication.
  • Ensure compliance with CRH, Tarmac, and industry reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong technical background with experience in writing and managing permit applications and liaising with regulators.
  • Specialist knowledge in waste or water resources, with expertise in environmental legislation, guidance, practices, and procedures.
  • Extensive experience in writing permit applications for waste operations, water discharges, and abstractions.
  • Environmental legislation compliance experience, including knowledge of regulatory compliance and legal processes.
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems and experience working with regulatory authorities.
  • Experience in managing consultants and knowledge of mineral extraction and associated processing techniques.
