A Bit About the Job

The Deputy Chief Custodian will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to all Safe Deposit customers and visitors by embodying the Selfridges values and ensuring that all customers receive a warm welcome and relevant information in a secure and discreet environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle safe deposit box visits with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Open new Safe Deposit Box contracts and maintain existing contracts, ensuring seamless customer experiences.
  • Oversee safe deposit box contract queries and reset procedures, providing timely and accurate solutions.
  • Evaluate customer issues and requests, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Identify and understand customer needs, consistently meeting expectations and exceeding them when possible.
  • Immerse in the Selfridges community and networks, embracing and upholding Selfridges values daily.
  • Assist with the training and induction of new team members, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
  • Be aware of all additional services offered and seek to deliver them when relevant.
  • Ensure adherence to all processes and procedures, including till procedures, security, health and safety, and compliance policies.
  • Hold regular team briefings to update on service targets, promotions, and company news.

About You

  • You will have a good understanding of the Safe Deposit process and be knowledgeable about competitors' policies and services.
  • You will possess strong customer service skills, always putting the customer first and gaining trust and loyalty easily.
  • You will be a proactive team member, collaborating with the wider team and building relationships quickly and easily.
  • You will be a great communicator, able to clearly communicate with customers, team members, and managers.
  • You will be pacey, positive, and flexible, responsive to business needs and happy to take responsibility for your tasks.
  • You will be committed to Selfridges, adopting the vision and values for the Flagship store and being aware and proud of the Selfridges environment.
