Hairdressing and Barbering Training Specialist

The role of Hairdressing and Barbering Training Specialist involves managing a caseload of learners undertaking various courses, qualifications, and programs offered by Educators Wales within the hairdressing and barbering sector. The specialist will ensure that learners receive appropriate support and guidance to achieve their full potential and meet key performance indicators externally from Lead Contractors and internally set within Educators Wales.
The specialist will engage with school pupils undertaking vocational qualifications as well as work-based learning students, undertaking Apprenticeships and NVQ qualifications. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering appropriate learning materials and resources to support the courses/qualifications delivered at Educators Wales.
- Managing a caseload of learners within the hairdressing/barbering/beauty sector(s).
- Ensuring learners are fully inducted to their program and monitor and review learner's progress at regular intervals as per agreed policy and against agreed targets.
- Cannassing new work placements and developing an employer base for continued expansion of training initiatives.
- Undertaking the inspection of placements to ensure compliance with the required standards of the sector.
- Refering learners where appropriate to alternative sources of learning/counseling guidance provision, responding to and helping them to resolve their difficulties, thereby ensuring required standards of learners' welfare and training.
- Maintaining, updating and completing appropriate documentation including learner enrolment paperwork and ongoing program records, qualification records and including learning plans, learner monitoring/reviewing reports, placement records, college/sub-contractor reports, relevant examination bodies' documentation and others as required.
- Liasing and providing records to external stakeholders such as Working Wales, College Providers, Employers and other parties, in line with GDPR legislation, who are involved in the delivery of the training provision as appropriate.
- Providing reports/updates for Contract Administrators, Team Leaders and Management, as appropriate.
- Providing data to update and maintain Management Information Systems for the sector/programme.
- To maintain an up to date knowledge of developments in vocational training and related programs and to ensure continuing professional development activities are undertaken.
