Nursing Opportunity in SCBU

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic neonatal nurse to join our Special Care Baby Unit team at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the provision of a safe and supportive environment for our patients and families.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Teamwork
    • Lead and coordinate shifts, demonstrating excellent clinical and communication skills.
    • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve shared goals and objectives.
  • Patient Care
    • Assess the needs of patients within the clinical area, planning and implementing individualized holistic nursing care.
    • Ensure the delivery of effective and sensitive evidence-based care to a high standard at all times.
  • Education and Development
    • Teach and support junior staff and pre-registration student nurses, promoting a culture of learning and development.
    • Participate in audit and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
Requirements
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Registered Nurse Adult or Child
    • Qualified in Speciality (Neonates), ENB 405 or equivalent
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience on a neonatal unit at Band 5
    • Experience of managing ward and leading the shift in absence of senior colleagues
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent verbal communication skills with all members of the healthcare team, colleagues, parents, and carers
    • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of child protection issues and safeguarding principles
