Job Purpose: To provide academic and social support to learners with additional needs, enabling them to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in developing and implementing learning opportunities and strategies to promote inclusion and achievement.
  • Promote participation and engagement of all learners in learning and enrichment activities.
  • Observe and engage with learner performance, providing feedback to teachers and colleagues.
  • Support learners with social, emotional, and mental health needs, escalating concerns as necessary.
  • Deliver individual intervention sessions as required.
  • Be aware of learners' physical, social, and intellectual development, adapting provision to support their education.
  • Understand the needs of all learners, including those with special educational needs, high ability, English as an additional language, and disabilities.
  • Work with teaching and non-teaching staff to design targeted resources to support learners' access to learning outcomes.
  • Promote high standards of literacy, articulacy, and Standard English.

Requirements:

  • Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant qualification.
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
  • Willingness to work towards completion of the HLTA qualification.
  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare or equivalent (desirable).
