Job Summary

Vanderlande Industries GmbH is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at the St. Louis International Airport. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our baggage handling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical systems to prevent downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect and diagnose issues with baggage handling equipment, identifying and implementing solutions to resolve problems.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and timely completion of tasks.
  • Schedule and prioritize maintenance activities to meet operational requirements and minimize disruptions.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track and report on maintenance activities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency situations and alarms, taking swift action to resolve issues and minimize impact on operations.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including inspections, adjustments, cleaning, and replacement of parts and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain conveyor systems, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
  • Supervise and train staff as needed, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree in industrial technology or electrical automation preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an industrial maintenance environment, with a strong background in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain an airport ID badge.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical degree in industrial technology or electrical automation.
  • Minimum 1 year of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC and PC-based control systems.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical systems. The role requires strong physical stamina, with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders is essential.
