About the Role

Mace is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the integration and coordination of a new baggage handling system (BHS) with the supporting structural mezzanine, maintenance access, MoE, and wayfinding. The successful candidate will ensure that the non-baggage works, namely the mechanical and electrical infrastructure and IT management systems, are coordinated within the Revit model.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review tender documentation and identify project risks
  • Assist the design team through the scheme / production design stage and the delivery team through into implementation and handover
  • Demonstrate design management procedures, review programmes, and set design deliverables
  • Attend/chair design coordination team meetings as necessary during contract, maintaining minutes, and ensuring the Design Risk Register is maintained by the P.D.
  • Oversee identification of constraints via a clash detection exercise and manage the resolution through design solution or identification of concession
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislative and client standards. Facilitate the process raising and agreeing concessions with stakeholders for derogations from ERs
  • Monitor and report on design progress, statutory approvals (Building Control and Baggage Operations Authority), outstanding information required, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues
  • Develop and agree design input/output responsibilities between consultants and subcontractors with design responsibilities
  • Monitor progress and status of RFI's and document control
