Maintenance Technician

Vanderlande Industries GmbH is a leading supplier of baggage handling systems and services for passenger boarding bridges and baggage handling systems worldwide. We are seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician to join our team at the St. Louis International Airport.
Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on the baggage handling system, including mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in industrial maintenance and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of mechanical and electrical components.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with the baggage handling system.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Schedule maintenance tasks to ensure minimal disruption to airport operations.
- Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track and report maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergency situations and perform repairs as needed.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting mechanical components.
- Operate and maintain baggage handling equipment, including conveyor systems.
- Supervise and train junior technicians as needed.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a similar role.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Technical degree in industrial technology or electrical automation.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, including PLC and PC systems.
The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced airport environment, with frequent exposure to mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will be able to lift and move heavy equipment, work at heights, and be exposed to loud noises. The physical demands of this role include standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
