Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team as a Portering Team Leader. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Transfusion Unit.

Main Responsibilities

As a Portering Team Leader, you will be responsible for assessing patients and delivering a range of treatments and procedures. You will work autonomously, with minimal supervision, and be expected to make decisions that impact patient care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering a variety of infusions and transfusions, including blood and platelets, iron, MG, biologics, antibiotics, zoledronic acid, pamidronate, factor 8, and immunoblots.
  • Undertaking and documenting comprehensive assessments of patients.
  • Checking patients' bloods prior to procedures, checking prescriptions, and ensuring checklists are completed.
  • Formulating and documenting plans of nursing care in partnership with patients, clients, and their families.

Person Specification

We are looking for a Registered Nurse with:

  • NMC registration.
  • Safe administration of IV and oral medication.

Desirable criteria include:

  • Picc line competencies.
  • Blood transfusion competencies.
