About the Role


The Portering and Post Room Services department at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Leader to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role requires an individual who can maximize the performance and productivity of their team, working closely with staff to ensure a safe and efficient portering service.


Main Responsibilities



  • Lead a team of porters to deliver a high-quality service, ensuring timely and safe movement of patients, samples, and medical records.
  • Process time sheets, undertake staff appraisals, and maintain electronic training records.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors, providing excellent customer service and resolving issues promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless service, adhering to trust policies and procedures.

Requirements



  • 1 year experience in a team leader or similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and assess staff.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the capacity to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
