We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Bright Horizons Phoenix Day Nursery and Preschool in Brentwood, Essex. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our children.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children, adhering to dietary requirements and food safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external requirements.
- Support the Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management.
- Promote and ensure child welfare, protection, health, and safety, and safeguarding.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a positive, happy, and safe environment.
- Previous experience in a kitchen role, preferably in a domestic or commercial setting.
- Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above (or equivalent) - this must be passed on day 1 in post.
- Sound knowledge of COSHH and managing different dietary requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with colleagues, children, and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor.
