Group HR Director Lead

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing departments of >20 and budgets of >£2m. They will also possess Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (CIPD) or demonstrable experience at Director level, including leading senior HR Professionals. A proven track record of delivering a 'cultural shift' is essential, as well as independent thinking to define how the strategy can be delivered in practice.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and execute a comprehensive people strategy that aligns with our long-term growth plans.
2. Lead and mentor the HR Leadership Teams across the group and divisions, deliver high-quality professional services, and business partnering aligned with our Values and priorities.
3. Provide values-based leadership, supporting organizational effectiveness, accountability, and diversity, equity & inclusion, with regular reporting to the board to drive outcomes aligned to our Strategic Pillars.
4. Advise on people challenges, manage organizational change sensitively, and support complex areas including employee relations, employment tribunals, and succession planning to ensure sustainability and growth.
5. Lead strategic workforce planning, ensuring we are positioned to attract and retain top talent, and foster a development culture at all levels.
6. Enhance our position as an employer of choice through a compelling Employee Value Proposition and engagement initiatives.
7. Build performance systems, tools, and metrics to provide data-driven insights in people decisions.
8. Lead the design and implementation of HR transformation initiatives to align with organizational objectives driving our strategic agenda.
9. Drive the adoption of digital HR solutions and ensuring seamless integration with existing technologies to future-proof HR operations.
10. Act as HR Representative for the company internally and externally, managing all third-party relationships (Employment Law, Occupational Health, Engagement, Development, etc.).
Requirements:
A strong ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels, leveraging listening, influencing, and coaching skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively. Skilled in managing operational priorities, navigating complexity, overseeing budgets, and analyzing data to support strategic decisions. Desirable: previous experience in a Group HRD role in an organization undergoing growth and/or significant transformation.
