Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist, you will be working within our Stroke and Neurology Pathway, providing specialist assessments and treatment to patients with acquired neurological communication disorders.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will have a strong background in dysphagia and experience working within a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for delivering specialist assessments and treatment, supporting the Clinical Lead and Senior Speech and Language Therapists, and contributing to the education and training of the MDT. You will also be involved in service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a professional degree in Speech Sciences or a related field, and a Certificate to Practise. You will also need to be a member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and the Healthcare Professions Council. Essential criteria include post-basic training in dysphagia, full competencies in cognitive neuropsychology, and experience working with neurological dysphagia. Desirable criteria include advanced dysphagia training and experience of supervision and leadership.
