About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Custody Nurse to join our team at HCRG Care Group. As a Custody Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality healthcare to individuals detained by the police or other agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and provide care to individuals in police custody.
  • Provide healthcare interventions to manage minor illnesses or injuries and refer onwards for more serious conditions.
  • Undertake forensic examinations to record and collect DNA evidence.
  • Collect specimens as required under legislation.
  • Provide written statements as required.
  • Attend courts or tribunals as required.
  • Maintain accurate and complete clinical records.
  • Assess alcohol and drug intoxication and withdrawal.
  • Identify vulnerabilities and safeguarding pathways.
  • Support the clinical governance agenda of the organisation.
  • Administer medications through PGDs and PTPs.

Essential

  • 2 years' minimum experience in a healthcare setting.

Desirable

  • Experience in a custody or forensic healthcare setting.
