Role Overview:

This is an ideal opportunity for Criminology and Psychology graduates to work as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in a specialist provision for children aged 7-19 who have experienced significant trauma. Our school focuses on holistic and restorative practices, fostering empathy and steering clear of punitive measures.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will make a positive impact on students' lives and ensure their safety. They will provide support and demonstrate the value of education, receiving comprehensive SEN and safeguarding training, including MAPA training. The role involves working with secondary-aged students (11-19) with EHCPs, including those with Autism, OCD, and varying levels of social anxiety. Additionally, they will engage in physical work while facilitating academic progress tailored to each child's context, managing some anti-social behavior as part of the role. The salary for this position is approximately £20,000 - £25,000 per annum.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and be able to work effectively with students who have experienced trauma. A background in Criminology or Psychology is desirable, but not essential. They will need to be patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships with students and staff. A willingness to learn and develop skills is also essential.
