RSK Group is seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join their team in Glasgow, UK. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that requires technical, commercial, and site management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Phase 1 desk studies to identify potential geotechnical risks.
  • Liaise with clients, engineering supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Organize and supervise ground investigation works, including drilling, trial pitting, and in-situ testing.
  • Log and schedule soil and rock samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Process field and laboratory results to inform project decisions.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports to document project findings.
Person Specification
  • BSc degree in geology, civil engineering, or a related environmental subject is essential.
  • Previous UK ground investigation site experience is mandatory.
  • MSc in geotechnical or engineering geology is desirable but not required.
  • Ability to log samples to BS 5930+A2 technical standards.
  • Familiarity with geological maps and published data.
  • Basic understanding of water, ground, and soil gas monitoring techniques.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
  • Working towards chartership with the Geological Society or equivalent.
