About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our team at Fairhurst. As a key member of our geotechnical team, you will be responsible for leading and managing geotechnical and geo-environmental workload across the south.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical and geo-environmental projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Develop and implement geotechnical solutions for a range of sectors, including road and rail, industrial, residential, commercial, and leisure developments.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff, promoting their development and growth within the team.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including structural, civil, and transportation engineers, to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging technologies, applying this knowledge to improve our services and solutions.
Requirements
  • Chartered or near-chartered status with a good degree in Earth Sciences, Geology, or Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles, soil behavior, and ground investigation techniques.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant geotechnical software, such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and RocScience.
