**Job Overview**

NHS Scotland is seeking an exceptional Consultant in Renal Medicine to join our team at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, leading medical teams, and contributing to research and education.

**Estimated Salary:** £123,500 - £154,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

**Job Description**

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated medical professional with expertise in general and nephrology care. The ideal candidate will have a CCT or equivalent in Renal Medicine and General Internal Medicine, as well as significant experience in managing complex patient cases.

The successful candidate will be based at the Edinburgh Renal Unit and will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients with renal disease. This will include participating in ward rounds, performing procedures, and developing treatment plans.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Lead the delivery of high-quality patient care in general and nephrology medicine
  • Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and educational events
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients with renal disease
  • Perform procedures such as dialysis and renal biopsies
  • Contribute to research and quality improvement initiatives within the department
  • Maintain GMC specialist registration and hold a license to practice
