The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) is a key part of NHS National Services Scotland, providing specialist transfusion medicine to supply high-quality blood, tissues, cells, products, and services. As a consultant-level medical professional, you will be responsible for supporting SNBTS Clinical Laboratories and Clinical Apheresis Unit, as well as assisting SNBTS Transfusion Practitioners and Hospital Transfusion Committees in the Southeast of Scotland.

Key duties include participation in the SNBTS National Consultant Rota for out-of-hours and daytime on-call shifts, with allocated time for continuing professional development. The ideal candidate must hold a CCT qualification in Haematology or be included on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council within six months. Additionally, you will need to undergo a PVG Scheme check and provide a criminal record check if applicable.
