An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced SEN teacher to lead a Key Stage 1 class within our Integrated Resource Unit at a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. This role offers the chance to work with a small group of children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

Job Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious SEN teacher to take on a leadership role and make a real difference in the lives of children with additional needs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning and delivering tailored lessons, creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, and working collaboratively with other professionals.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver lesson plans that meet the unique needs of each child, promoting academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Create a safe and engaging learning environment that encourages participation and progress.
  • Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Implement evidence-based behaviour management strategies to support children with Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.
  • Maintain effective relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress.

The salary for this role is £50,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience, and includes access to ongoing professional development opportunities and a supportive working environment.
