Job Summary
This is a full-time post working 37 hours over 5 days. Some evening and weekend working will be required on an on-call basis. This is a hybrid role, and you will be required to work from the office at least two days per week and perhaps more depending on business need.
About the Role
We place high value on excellence and are continually looking to improve how we work to ensure that we can deliver the Parliament's core purpose of representing the people of Scotland by debating issues of national importance, passing legislation, and holding the Scottish Government to account.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and comprehensive communications support to 3 parliamentary committees covering a wide range of subjects.
- Work with Committee Conveners, clerking colleagues and others to provide advice on identifying key audiences and be responsible for the development and delivery of effective communication plans to assist committees in achieving their strategic objectives.
- Participate in our on-call media service which will include some evening and weekend working.
About You
The successful candidate will have relevant experience within a communications role. You will have excellent knowledge of the media landscape in Scotland, good news judgement, awareness and interest in the Scottish political landscape, and a clear understanding of online and traditional media channels. Experience in using digital platforms such as Facebook, X, and Instagram is desirable.
