About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Family Support Specialist to join our team at the London Borough of Croydon. As a Family Support Specialist, you will provide support for families across the continuum of need, recognising and accessing relevant support networks to enable them to enjoy and achieve a good standard of family life and wellbeing.

You will work closely with locality management to achieve the delivery of high quality support for families, navigating and brokering access to community services including health, education, and third sector provisions. This is a key role in providing intensive partnership working with families and universal provisions.

The salary for this position is £38,934 - £40,755 per annum, depending on experience. You will be required to have a thorough knowledge and understanding of child development, including issues affecting babies, children, and young people's vulnerability and resilience. Knowledge of statutory services and relevant children's legislation is also essential.

This is a challenging but rewarding role that requires confident practitioners with broad understanding of child development and relationship-based work with children, young people, and their families. The successful candidate will be able to engage families who may be hesitant or reluctant to work with the service, carrying a mixed caseload of approximately 25 children and managing their work in accordance with Early Help practice standards.
