About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Oncology Practitioner to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a significant contribution to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Overview

This role will involve working autonomously as an advanced practitioner within acute oncology, providing expert clinical care and advice to patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating care, managing complex medical cases, and leading the development of referral guidelines and policies for the service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with cancer and other related conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Conduct ward rounds, patient reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Lead in the development and updating of referral guidelines and policies for the service.
  • Manage and escalate medical emergencies appropriately.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years post-registration experience at a senior level (Band 7 or above) in cancer or acute care.
  • Experience in service development and implementation of change.
Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, annual leave, and opportunities for professional development.
