Job Overview

We are seeking an Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our Oncology team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide specialist ANP nursing services, offering holistic, patient-centred and sensitive care for Oncology patients.

Main Duties of the Job

Clinical Practice

o The main aspect of the role is working autonomously in the assessment and management of patients undergoing Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at our Cancer Centres.

o Undertake Nurse Lead GI Clinic on Mondays, responsible for reviewing follow-up patients undergoing SACT, maintaining excellent standards of nursing care through planning, co-ordinating and delivery of the nurse-led clinic.

Leadership and Education

o Lead and provide specialist ANP knowledge to the nursing teams at both Cancer Centres.

o Develop, contribute and lead upon educational programmes working closely with the Oncology Nurse Consultant, Matron and Head of Nursing for Oncology.

Collaboration

o Liaise with all key members of the MDT advising and supporting colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • A Masters level qualification/in progress or equivalent experience
  • Be an independent prescriber or working towards according Non-medical prescribing course
