Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR Operations Specialist to join our team at Sonoco. As an HR Generalist, you will be responsible for providing HR support and guidance to employees and managers on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support managers with full case management on ER cases.
  • Advising and aiding managers with all aspects of the company absence policy.
  • Managing long-term absence for return to work or terminations, including occupational health referrals.
  • Supporting line management with disciplinary and grievance issues.
  • Delivering training to line managers on HR policies and procedures.
  • Providing HR Admin support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Supporting the effective communication and implementation of HR policies.
  • Driving employee engagement on site.
  • Signposting employees to relevant support services.
  • Building positive relationships with unions and agency suppliers.
  • Supporting recruitment campaigns, including job adverts, shortlisting, interviews, and exit interviews.
  • Implementing a full Onboarding process for new hires.
  • Coordinating probationary and performance reviews.
  • Supporting the Early Career Framework and Apprenticeship programme.
  • Producing HR KPIs and reports.
  • Administering HR databases and systems.
  • Developing an HR framework for the business.
  • Ensuring wellbeing, inclusion, and engagement initiatives.
  • Supporting HR projects and initiatives.
  • Promoting company values.
  • Working on succession planning and talent management.
  • Preparing payroll data.
  • Participating in audits.
