We are seeking a Special Needs Educator to lead our English department at a non-profit independent special school in Westbury.

About the Role

This school offers a supportive and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs (SEN) to thrive.

  • The successful educator will develop and implement a tailored English curriculum that meets the diverse needs of students with SEN.
  • The teacher will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons using various strategies and resources to support individual learning styles and needs.
Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Regularly assessing student progress, setting learning goals, and adapting teaching methods to ensure all students make progress.
  • Providing guidance and support to other teachers and teaching assistants in delivering English lessons and meeting SEN students' needs.
  • Working closely with other staff, including SEN coordinators, therapists, and support staff, to ensure holistic support for each student.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Qualified Teacher (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) or other recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience of teaching to secondary class/group.
  • An ability to prepare and deliver appropriate curriculum using a range of teaching styles and methodologies.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition, we offer:
