The Housing Support Case Manager plays a crucial role in providing assistance to clients with their housing needs. This position involves addressing all housing-related inquiries, from offering initial advice to managing intricate cases, ensuring that vulnerable clients receive the comprehensive support necessary to maintain their housing stability.
The successful candidate will oversee the administration and management of social housing units, with a responsibility for managing a portfolio of between 550 and 750 tenancies.
It is essential to ensure compliance with housing policies and procedures.
This role demands strong interpersonal abilities, a solid understanding of housing legislation, and the capacity to manage a diverse array of responsibilities.
Knowledge and ExperienceEssential:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in housing management within a registered provider.
- Thorough understanding of social housing, particularly in housing management.
- Experience in tenancy and estates management.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with a diverse range of individuals.
- Experience in frontline customer service, particularly with vulnerable populations.
- Administrative experience, including accurate record-keeping and statistical reporting.
- Numerical proficiency.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with the Data Protection Act.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations in a social housing context.
- Knowledge of welfare benefits and reforms.
- Experience in triaging inquiries and appropriately directing clients.
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in person, via email, and over the phone.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.
- Proficient in keyboarding and word processing.
- Competent in IT, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and case management systems.
