Exciting Opportunity for Cardiac Physiologists

We are seeking highly skilled cardiac physiologists to join our dynamic team at the East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidates will work in our echocardiography department, performing a range of clinical procedures and interpreting clinical data to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role involves working independently and collaboratively with a team of medical professionals to provide comprehensive echocardiography services. This includes performing adult transthoracic echocardiography, physiologist-led valve clinics, exercise echocardiography lists, and transoesophageal echocardiography lists.

As a senior cardiac physiologist, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the department's training and education programme, implementing changes to practice and service provision in liaison with the principal/deputy principal cardiac physiologists.

The ideal candidate will have significant clinical experience working in the field of cardiac physiology, with advanced specialist knowledge in one area of cardiac physiology. A BSc/MSc in Cardiac Physiology/Cardiac Science/Healthcare science is also required. The successful candidate will be able to work as an independent practitioner in the field of specialty and will be able to interpret clinical data, produce factual reports, and deliver results to other medical professionals.

About the Role

This is an exciting time to join our department as we are currently refurbishing our cardiac catheter labs to improve the care we provide for our patients. As part of this, we are expanding the PCI and pacing therapies that we can offer our patients, including more complex PCI procedures and CRT-P/conduction system device implants, allowing patients to be treated locally.

Person Specification

  • Knowledge of a wide range of cardiac physiology investigations and advanced specialist knowledge in one area of cardiac physiology.
  • BSc/MSc in Cardiac Physiology/Cardiac Science/Healthcare science.
  • Significant clinical experience working in the field of cardiac physiology at band 6 level.
  • Experience in complex echo/devices.
  • Experience in training staff.
  • Research experience.
