Exciting Opportunity for Cardiac Physiologists

We are seeking two full-time Chief Cardiac Physiologists to join our dynamic team at the Ipswich Hospital. As a key member of our echocardiography team, you will be responsible for performing a range of clinical procedures, interpreting clinical data, and delivering results to medical professionals.

Our team provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic tests, including adult transthoracic echocardiography, physiologist-led valve clinics, and exercise echocardiography lists. We operate Monday to Friday, with the potential for weekend overtime work.

This is an exciting time to join our department as we are currently refurbishing our cardiac catheter labs to improve patient care. We are expanding our PCI and pacing therapies, including complex PCI procedures and CRT-P/conduction system device implants.

  1. Perform clinical procedures safely and appropriately in accordance with local and national policy.
  2. Interpret clinical data and deliver results to medical professionals.
  3. Contribute to the department training and education programme.
  4. Work within trust and external professional standards of proficiency.

We are looking for individuals who hold BSE level 2 accreditation in adult transthoracic echocardiography. However, we are willing to consider a band 6 progression post for the right candidate who does not currently hold BSE accreditation.

Person Specification
  • Knowledge of cardiac physiology investigations and advanced specialist knowledge in one area.
Qualifications
  • BSc/MSc in Cardiac Physiology/Cardiac Science/Healthcare Science.
Experience
  • Significant clinical experience working in cardiac physiology at band 6 level.
  • Experience in complex echo/devices.
  • Experience in training staff.
  • Research experience.
  • Able to work as an independent practitioner in the field of specialty.
