Job Description:

The Safety & Training Manager is a critical role at Great Canadian Coaches Inc., responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing safety programs and training initiatives for highway coach drivers.

Safety Program Development and Management
  • Develop and manage safety protocols and procedures for all highway coach operations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and inspections of coaches to ensure compliance with safety standards.

This involves creating comprehensive training programs for highway coach drivers, including initial and ongoing training sessions. The Manager will ensure that training materials cover regulatory compliance, defensive driving techniques, emergency procedures, customer service, and other key areas.

Training and Development
  • Create and facilitate hands-on driver training, simulations, and workshops to reinforce safety principles and correct practices.
  • Track driver performance and implement corrective actions or additional training as necessary.

The Safety & Training Manager must maintain a thorough understanding of government regulations as they relate to highway coach operations. This includes ensuring company policies and training programs reflect current laws and standards.

Regulatory Compliance
  • Investigate all accidents, incidents, and safety-related complaints, working to determine root causes and prevent recurrences.
  • Prepare detailed reports on accidents, safety concerns, and risk factors for management review.

This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with experience in training and team coordination. The ideal candidate will have analytical skills for assessing risks and determining training needs.

Data Collection and Analysis
  • Collect and analyze data related to safety performance metrics, driver compliance, and training effectiveness.
  • Use data insights to continuously improve safety and training protocols.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience. The job type is full-time, with flexible language requirements. Benefits include dental care, life insurance, and on-site parking.

Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation safety, preferably within highway coach or bus operations.
  • Knowledge of US and Canadian regulations, and other safety standards.
