Skanska, a leading project development and construction group, is seeking a skilled Safety and Compliance Manager to join their Infrastructure team on the A428 project. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality advice, guidance, and coaching to senior management to achieve a zero-accident goal.

Job Overview

This role involves ensuring compliance with company Health and Safety Management Systems (HSMS) and statutory provisions, as well as assisting project teams in producing, reviewing, and implementing Construction Phase Plans and Project Execution Plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with company HSMS and report performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with trade contractors, designers, suppliers, clients, enforcement agencies, and other relevant parties to ensure effective communication and adherence to regulations.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identifying root causes and contributory factors, and ensuring closure of remedial actions.
  • Coordinate auditing of projects and trade contractors, designers, and suppliers, working closely with the Procurement Team.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience at a senior safety level in delivery of large infrastructure projects, hold a Health and Safety NEBOSH General Certificate or above, and be working towards Chartered Membership of IOSH – CMIOSH. Additionally, experience working with Highways England as a client and managing highways work would be advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits
