The Technical Standards and Safety Authority is dedicated to ensuring the safe operation of technical systems and equipment in Ontario. We are currently seeking an experienced Inspector, Boiler, and Pressure Vessel Program to join our team in Cambridge.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to promote public safety through the periodic/in-service inspection and certification of boilers, pressure vessels and pressure piping. You will be working closely with internal and external customers to develop progressive relationships and promote safety-oriented results.

Responsibilities
  • Promote public safety through regular inspections and certifications
  • Conduct shop inspections for the manufacturing of boilers and pressure vessels
  • Apply technical proficiency by conducting welder and brazer tests and monitoring repairs and alterations

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of related CSA and ASME BPV codes, the Technical Standards and Safety Act, and BPV Regulations. This role requires daily travel, so a valid Ontario driver's license is required.

Compensation

Salary: $95,000 - $115,000 per year (dependent on education, work experience, and licensing). We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous pension plan.

Requirements
  • Qualifications include writing the Ontario Certificate of Competency
  • Five years' experience in the BPV industry
  • Strong understanding of CSA and ASME BPV codes, the Technical Standards and Safety Act, and BPV Regulations
  • Valid Ontario driver's license
