Tissue Viability Specialist for Community Care

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled nurse to join our dedicated and passionate community nurse led Tissue Viability and Lymphoedema Services. The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based tissue viability and lymphoedema care for patients with chronic wounds and lower limb oedema in both community and in-patient settings.

Main duties of the job

  • The Tissue Viability Service (TVS) provides specialist advice to clinicians on the prevention and management of chronic wounds across various care settings. The post holder will be required to work across multiple care settings alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team within the community and will require liaison with other external services to support quality health improvement in our patient group.

Key responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence-based tissue viability and lymphoedema care for patients with chronic wounds and lower limb oedema.
  • Provide specialist advice to clinicians on the prevention and management of chronic wounds.
  • Work across multiple care settings alongside a skilled multidisciplinary team within the community.
  • Liaise with other external services to support quality health improvement in our patient group.

Requirements

  • NMC 1st level registration - Registered General Nurse.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Post registration education in Tissue Viability / Lymphoedema including Leg Ulcer and Lower Limb & Pressure Ulcer Assessment & Management Courses.

Desirable qualifications and experience

  • Physical Assessment Course.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
  • Tissue Viability or Lymphoedema related degree or course or the willingness to obtain.
