Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Research Assistant/Associate to join our research group at the University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will have a strong background in materials science and experience in thin film growth, materials characterization, and electrical device fabrication.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake research in the area of oxide thin film materials with electrical switching effects in epitaxial binary ferroelectric oxide thin films.
- Work with industry colleagues on a new collaborative project with a start-up company in Cambridgeshire.
- Conduct experimental research in a team environment, working under the supervision of Prof Driscoll.
- Undertake thin film growth by pulsed laser deposition and/or sputtering, and materials characterization by a wide range of methods.
- PhD in materials science or a closely related subject.
- Experience in 2D materials such as graphene, hexagonal boron nitride, and transition metal dichalcogenides.
- Effective written communication skills and the ability to plan and organise independently.
