Senior Mental Health Professional

Job Summary
The Senior Mental Health Professional will be responsible for leading a team of healthcare professionals in providing high-quality care to patients with severe mental health problems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health nursing and experience in a leadership role. They will be responsible for managing a team of staff, providing clinical supervision, and promoting a culture of excellence in patient care.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of issues surrounding confidentiality and security, and will be able to demonstrate effective personal planning and organization of their workload.
Main Duties of the Job
The Senior Mental Health Professional will be responsible for:
- Line management of identified members of the service
- Monitoring the practice of junior staff and identifying learning and development needs
- Maintaining professional, therapeutic relationships with patients, carers, and colleagues
- Providing regular line management supervision and appraisals to junior members of staff
- Completing ward rotas and ensuring the ward is sufficiently and safely staffed
Clinical Responsibilities
The Senior Mental Health Professional will be accountable for their own professional practice and will be responsible for:
- Supporting the development and implementation of recovery-focused interventions
- Providing training and support to other staff members as appropriate
- Demonstrating effective personal planning and organization of their workload
