We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Administrator to join our dynamic team at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the Trust's Losses and Compensation process, assisting the team with case-coordination of both Inquests and negligence matters. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a high level of administrative competence.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a prestigious healthcare organisation, working closely with experienced professionals to provide exceptional patient care. As a Medical Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Medico-Legal Manager and Deputy Claims and Inquest Managers in relation to Negligence claims and Inquests.

You will also manage a small caseload of Employer and Public Liability claims, investigating the claim, liaising with patients, and presenting the claim to the Losses and Compensation Panel for approval/rejection. Additionally, you will provide administrative support in the form of report writing and minute-taking, and act upon any emails received in the generic Medico-Legal Department inbox and allocate them to the team as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Medico-Legal Manager and Deputy Claims and Inquest Managers
  • Manage a small caseload of Employer and Public Liability claims
  • Investigate claims, liaise with patients, and present claims to the Losses and Compensation Panel
  • Provide administrative support in the form of report writing and minute-taking
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 5 years' relevant work experience
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment
  • Prioritising, planning, and organising own tasks
  • Working within guidelines
  • Experience of dealing with difficult situations and confrontations
  • Data entry experience and documentation
  • Experience of IT packages - Microsoft Office
  • Experience of producing documents to a high standard
