Job Title: Lead Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Physiotherapist to join our team at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. As a key member of our Therapies department, you will be responsible for leading our Acute Medicine team and providing expert physiotherapy services to patients in our 5 acute medical wards, including our cardiac care unit and acute respiratory ward.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide skilled team leadership in planning and delivering high standards of physiotherapy assessment, management, treatment, and advice to patients within the acute medical wards.
  • Take a major role in the advanced assessment and management of patients with complex presentations and/or multi-pathology presentations, determining best delivery of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Work as an autonomous professional according to the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) Rules of Professional Conduct and Standards of Physiotherapy, and the Health Care Professions Council's (HCPC) regulations.
  • Undertake service reviews/audits to evaluate quality, efficiency, and outcomes, with a view to implementing change of practice to ensure high standards of clinical practice and patient care.
  • Take a lead role in the supervision, teaching, and appraisal of physiotherapists, non-qualified physiotherapy staff, and students to graduate level, and multi-disciplinary team staff in the physiotherapeutic care of patients within this specialty.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration
  • Completion of acute rotations
  • Oncall competence
  • Supervision of staff
