Sales Development Lead

As a Retail Sales Development Manager at Booker Wholesale, you will play a crucial role in driving sales growth and developing our retail business. Reporting directly to the Retail Development Controller, you will work closely with a team of RDMs to form the Regional Retail Team, delivering the company's objectives through the engagement and delivery of the Retail Plan.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include managing a portfolio of disciplined Premier and Family Shopper retailers, providing guidance and support to help them improve and enhance their store offer. You will also focus on recruiting new business from competitors and independent retailers, highlighting the benefits of joining the leading symbol fascia in the convenience sector. Additionally, you will work to challenge and advise underperforming stores on how to improve and meet their contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of retailers, providing guidance and support to improve their store offer.
- Recruit new business from competitors and independent retailers.
- Challenge and advise underperforming stores on how to improve.
- Ensure feedback is shared with the retail functions.
- Support the creation of a culture that recognizes the right behaviors.
To succeed in this role, you will require a successful career with a core skill set around influencing customers. You must have exceptional relationship-building capabilities, commercial understanding, and the ability to work effectively in a remote field-based role. Additionally, you will need to be able to challenge, develop, and embed change, as well as make pragmatic decisions based on information given. A natural ability to listen and advise customers on best practice is also essential.
