Community Alarm Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Community Alarm Officer to join our team at Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our vulnerable citizens.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and install telecare equipment in individuals' homes, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Operate the control centre equipment on a 24-hour basis, receiving and responding to emergency calls in accordance with the Telecare Service Association Code of Practice policies and procedures.
- Identify emergency situations, assess customer needs, and initiate appropriate action to ensure timely and effective support.
- Provide a courteous and professional service to customers, colleagues, and stakeholders, offering information, advice, and support as required.
- Collaborate with other teams and services to ensure seamless delivery of support to our citizens.
- Experience of working with vulnerable people in a caring capacity, either in their own homes or in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of social alarm equipment and its application in a control centre environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing emergency calls and responding to customer needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications, such as a Literacy Level 2 qualification or equivalent.
