About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead the People, Politics and Communication (PPC) subject area at Liverpool John Moores University. As a key member of the School's senior management team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the subject area and driving its success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to promote the PPC subject area and enhance its reputation
  • Lead a team of communications professionals to deliver high-quality content and campaigns that engage stakeholders and promote the university's mission
  • Collaborate with academic staff to develop and implement research and teaching strategies that align with the university's strategic objectives
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective delivery of communications initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including media, government, and industry partners
Requirements
  • Proven track record of leadership and management in a communications role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and strategies
  • Strong understanding of the higher education sector and its challenges
  • Ability to think strategically and make informed decisions
  • Experience of managing budgets and resources
