Care and Support Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Personal Care Worker with Disabilities Expertise in Whitley Bay. Our client requires a Support Assistant to provide ongoing care and support to a young lady with Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, and a Learning Disability.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 and 2:1 support with personal care, feeding, washing, and dressing tasks.
- Understand and apply moving and handling techniques, including transfers using equipment and hoists (full training provided).
- Administer medication, including emergency Epilepsy medication as required (training provided).
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary of approximately £32,920 per annum, based on a 40-hour working week. The role involves working 12 hours per week, including weekends, with a flexible approach to cover shifts as needed.
Person Specification- A minimum of 12 months' experience in a similar role is preferred, although not essential.
- A genuine interest in supporting adults with complex needs is essential.
- Flexibility, patience, punctuality, and reliability are key qualities for this role.
Please note that dogs are part of the household and are very friendly. An enhanced DBS check will be carried out for this post, and the cost will be met by Northumberland County Council. References will be requested upon a successful interview.
