Location: Plymouth

Estimated Salary: £38,500 p/a

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday: 09:00 - 17:00hrs, Friday: 09:00 - 16:30hrs

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced facilities maintenance professional to join our team at CV Library in Plymouth. As a Facilities Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities, including overseeing daily functions, managing repairs, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Building Maintenance:
    Manage the maintenance and repair of HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and structural integrity.
    Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance issues.
    Schedule routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns.
  2. Equipment Management:
    Ensure all essential equipment is operational.
    Maintain an inventory of equipment and arrange for necessary replacements or upgrades.
  3. Health & Safety Compliance:
    Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures.
    Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to minimise workplace hazards.
  4. Vendor and Contractor Management:
    Manage relationships with external contractors for cleaning, security, and repairs.
    Supervise on-site contractors to ensure work meets required standards.
  5. Budgeting and Cost Control:
    Assist in managing expenses to ensure cost-effective solutions.
    Track expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  6. Space Management:
    Oversee the allocation of space within the building, coordinating with department heads on workspace needs.
  7. Emergency Response:
    Develop emergency response procedures and coordinate drills.
    Act as the primary contact for facility-related emergencies.
