Workshop Engineer Specialist

SMT GB seeks a skilled Workshop Engineer to join our team, working with heavy construction plant to deliver exceptional results. As a key member of our workshop team, you will play a vital role in maintaining and repairing equipment to the highest standards.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintenance and repair of Volvo construction equipment and other machinery.
- Compliance with quotations and time guidelines, with clear communication of any additional work requirements.
- Personal tool maintenance and update knowledge.
- Timely software update implementation.
- Precise documentation, including oil samples and service inspections.
- Real-time electronic time registration with comprehensive details.
- Part procurement and return in clean condition upon job completion.
- Overtime flexibility as required.
- Product/systems training course attendance for enhanced technical skillset.
- Strict adherence to SMT GB's ISO standards for health, safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.
To excel in this position, you must possess:
- An engineering degree in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural/HGV mechanics.
- Substantial experience in heavy construction plant repair and maintenance.
- Demonstrated expertise in diesel engines, transmissions, drive lines, hydraulics, and electronics.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- A keen understanding of costs and profitability.
- Exceptional problem-solving and diagnostic abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- A commitment to quality and attention to detail.
- Reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
- Ability to interpret technical literature, including service bulletins and parts books.
