About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapy Operational Lead to join our team at University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the Physiotherapy Leadership Team, you will be responsible for the operational and clinical management of the Physiotherapy service at St Richards Hospital, working closely with the Therapy Site Lead and Professional Lead for Physiotherapy.

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the operational and clinical management of the inpatient Physiotherapy services and non-MSK/POGP Physiotherapy outpatient services, including Cardiac Rehab, Pulmonary Rehab, Respiratory, Neurology, Spasticity Clinic, Home Oxygen Service, Paediatrics, and ITU Follow-Up clinics.

• Contribute to the planning, development, and performance of the Physiotherapy service across University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust.

• Promote and develop equality and diversity practices and delivery to ensure equity of access to care for patients and equity of access to job opportunities and development opportunities for staff.

• Maintain a clinical caseload (minimum 1 day a week) as an autonomous practitioner, providing specialist assessment and treatment within the designated area.

Person Specification

• Professional Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy

• Relevant Masters Level qualification or equivalent

• HCPC Registration as a Physiotherapist

• Experience of Team Lead Management as Band 7

Desirable

• Professional postgraduate qualification at MSc level

• High-level clinical skills through appraisal/IPR/training

• Involvement in strategic planning and service developments locally

• Awareness of trust procedures and pathways for financial planning

• Demonstrable involvement in staff development programmes and supervision/mentoring

• Evidence of having undertaken own development to improve understanding of equalities issues

• Evidence of having championed diversity in previous roles (as appropriate to role)
