Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as Cancer Services Manager.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing complex services, as well as substantial experience in delivering cancer services and national indicators in an acute hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will possess a postgraduate health or management qualification, with evidence of recent continuous professional development at a senior level.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve national cancer waiting time targets.
  • Collect, monitor, validate, and report cancer waiting times performance in line with national best practice and guidance.
  • Assist in the responsible executive sign-off for national cancer data submission.
  • Manage the point of entry for urgent referrals made by a GP.
  • Develop processes for daily, weekly, monthly reporting and trend analysis of cancer breaches.
  • Contribute to the coordination of a rolling programme of internal and external cancer data quality audits.
  • Support the delivery of cost-efficient services through strategic leadership, management, and resource deployment.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate health or management qualification.
  • Evidence of recent continuous professional development at a senior level.
  • Substantial experience in delivering cancer services and national indicators in an acute hospital.
  • Proven track record in planning and delivering projects and targets in the NHS.
  • SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE AT A SENIOR LEVEL IN A LARGE COMPLEX SERVICE ORGANISATION.

Salary Range: £74,290 - £85,601 per annum
