About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haemato-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our haemato-oncology service, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with haematological conditions, including those with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's physical, emotional, and social needs.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and laboratory tests, to inform care decisions.
  • Prescribe medications and treatments, as appropriate, and monitor patient responses to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals to promote health literacy and self-management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to haemato-oncology care.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with a degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Post-registration qualification in haematology or a related field.
  • Experience in haemato-oncology nursing, with a strong understanding of haematological conditions and their management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
