Haemato-Oncology Specialist Nurse Leader

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haemato-Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our haemato-oncology team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert nursing care to patients with haematological conditions, including those with complex needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery and optimal patient outcomes.
- Conduct thorough assessments, including physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and laboratory tests, to inform care decisions.
- Prescribe medications and treatments, as appropriate, and monitor patient responses to ensure safe and effective care.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and carers to promote self-management and empowerment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines related to haemato-oncology care.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a degree in nursing or a related field.
- Post-registration qualification in haematology or a related field.
- Experience in haemato-oncology nursing, with a strong understanding of haematological conditions and their management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
