Job Title: Adolescent Safeguarding Specialist

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in reviewing contacts and referrals related to contextual safeguarding needs, including children who may be at risk due to online activity, grooming, or radicalisation. You will work closely with police, education, and health partners to develop and implement robust responses to harm in the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support social workers in identifying risk and establishing safety early on in the assessment and carry out investigations as required.
  • Work with families and partners to keep children at home where it is safe to do so, and provide a robust long-term intervention through the SHIFT team if necessary.
  • Deliver direct work and support social workers in their direct work with adolescents to support them in identifying positive life goals, understanding and responding to risk safely, and having healthy relationships.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure the best services are offered to vulnerable young people in the area.
Requirements:
  • You are a social work manager passionate about working alongside young people and their families to reduce exploitation and harm in the community.
  • You are skilled at identifying risks both in the home and community, analysing information from a wide range of sources to formulate clear direction and support to social workers.
  • You have experience in delivering direct work and supporting social workers in their direct work with adolescents.
  • You work well with other professionals, including the police, schools, and health partners.
