About the Role

This challenging role involves investigating potential contaminants, conducting water quality testing, and enforcing regulatory compliance. You will work closely with other departments to provide expert advice on water quality and environmental protection. Key Responsibilities
  1. Investigations and Inspections: Conduct comprehensive site investigations to identify potential contaminants, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  2. Water Quality Testing: Develop and implement effective water sampling protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  3. Enforcement and Compliance: Investigate complaints related to statutory nuisances, prepare and issue statutory notices, and enforce regulatory compliance.
  4. Proactive Measures: Develop and implement proactive environmental work aligned with Section duties, providing expert advice on water quality, contamination, and environmental protection.

To succeed in this role, you will need a strong educational background in environmental health, pollution control, or a related field. A minimum of one year's experience in environmental protection/pollution control, with a focus on water quality, within a local authority is essential. We require a Degree or Diploma in Environmental Health, registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB), or an equivalent relevant science degree. The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £50,000 per annum.
