Career Opportunity: Clinical Leadership

Candidates are invited to apply for a challenging and rewarding role as a Consultant Psychiatrist within our Community Mental Health Team. This position offers the chance to lead clinical decision making, develop service priorities, and engage with transformation programmes.

As part of our team, you will assess new patients, conduct follow-up clinics, and review existing cases. Your expertise will be utilised to diagnose complex presentations, formulate management plans, and provide treatment in resistant cases. You will also prepare reports for Mental Health Review Tribunals and attend hearings.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with multidisciplinary teams, external partners, and psychiatrists from other providers. You will be expected to lead clinical decision making, develop service priorities, and engage with service transformation programmes.

The successful applicant will have a Medical Degree, be registered on the Specialist Register, and hold GMC Registration. MRCPsych or equivalent approval by the Royal College of Psychiatrists is desirable. As an Approved Clinician, you will be involved in Mental Health Act work and on-call duties.

In addition to your clinical responsibilities, you will contribute to educational activities, providing clinical supervision to trainees and achieving competencies in core general psychiatry.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £93,000 - £116,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as standard offer of SPAs: DCCs (pro rata). Support for flexible working, opportunities to pursue special interests, and access to in-house training, including a Recovery Academy, are also available.
